5 stars. A cozy, slice-of-life story of someone who’s overpowered and brings up as many others as he can.

There are many LitRPG stories out there where the MC is overpowered. I mean, they are almost all that way.
But not many where the MC gains his power from helping others. The more he helps, the more powerful he gets. So his primary quest is to gain followers and keep them happy with him.
Don’t get me wrong. When someone goes after his kids – most of his followers are teens and orphans – he will eliminate them and their family from the face of the planet. He erased billions of dollars worth of assets by destroying the headquarters of a sect who killed one of his low-ranked followers.
So he is strong, gets stronger, and works primarily to strengthen his sect.
Sect Leader System is a really interesting combination of things that blend together really well:
- Overpowered protag
- Cultivation, sects, qi
- System (points, levels)
- Kind of cozy (a grandfather taking care of his grand-kids vibe)
- Things are done in a fairly systematic way – logic over emotion
That said, if you’re looking for a book where the smallest and weakest is left behind, this isn’t it. The smallest and weakest get extra attention. The MC takes in orphans and people from the lowest grade of society (“F tier”) and makes them stronger.
It’s all done very well. I read through 197 chapters in like 3 or 4 days. Well done. Recommended.
