Rise of the Weakest Summoner, Books 1-7

4 stars.

Not every book needs to be 100% unique, with a never-seen-before twist. Rise of the Weakest Summoner delivers exactly what the title promises.

Asterios was know as the weakest summoner in wizard school, and was constantly picked on. He had a few teachers and fellow students who were silently supporting him, but it seemed like the vast majority of the school (and administrators) were against him because he was so weak. He had a rabbit as a familiar.

One day, in a duel, his opponent’s summons was on the verge of harming (or accidentally killing) the rabbit, and so Asterios intervened. You’re not supposed to do that. And so the boy got kicked out of school.

Of course, the moment he was kicked out of school, his secret inner power began to emerge.

Little by little, he grew in strength. He discovered some hidden power inside him, and this started a mystery. What was it, why was it there, and why was it hidden?

As you’d expect, he begins summoning more powerful creatures to fight beside him. These creatures just happen to be a beautiful panther girl and a beautiful fox girl. Well, here’s the warning about this part of the book: he develops a harem.

Some people don’t like books with harems, but in this case I think it’s actually quite mild.

There’s one chapter in the first book with spicy content, and it’s clearly marked so you can skip it if you so wish.

In later books, he slowly begins to add to his group including the girl from school that had a crush on him for years. He also adds party members that are not sleeping in the same tent as him.

I guess what is interesting about this series is that he’s not growing in power through effort, training or meditation. He has some hidden power inside him that is slowly leaking out.

Anyways, it was easy to read and is available free in Kindle Unlimited.
